Maize Bakery is a bespoke shop serving up sweets in Austin, Texas. Featuring to-order confectionery concoctions that are as unique as they are delicious—this modern spin on a traditional bakery is locally known for their jam drops, shortbreads, and seasonal flavors.
The heart of the brand lies with hand-drawn illustrations created by Eric Chase Anderson. By reimagining the colored pencil scenes, we took each of the icons that symbolized something to the bakery and created multiple patterns & graphic elements for use across the brands presence. To contrast the soft pencil marks, we combined a sleek typography system with multiple word marks and a cookie-inspired hexagon 'm.' We united the elements with striking brand colors that are a modern nod to tradition—bold blacks and a combination of warm & electric pinks.
